Sundays on Cycle: Youth Pedal for Fitness in Navi Mumbai’s 69th Edition

Navi Mumbai— The streets of Kharghar came alive this Sunday as more than 400 young cyclists, students, and volunteers joined the 69th edition of “Sundays on Cycle”, a flagship initiative under the Fit India Movement. Organized by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Regional Centre Mumbai, in collaboration with MY Bharat, the event turned the city into a vibrant celebration of fitness, community, and cycling culture.

🚴 A Rally with Purpose

The cycling rally covered a 5‑kilometer route, beginning at Vinayak Seth Chowk and passing through landmarks such as the Kharghar Football Stadium and Sector 27, before concluding at B.D. Somani International School. The event was flagged off by Shri Prashant Thakur, MLA Panvel, who praised the enthusiasm of the youth and emphasized the importance of cycling as a lifestyle choice.

Speaking at the event, Shri Thakur highlighted how initiatives like “Sundays on Cycle” not only promote fitness but also build awareness about sustainable living.
“It is inspiring to see such enthusiastic participation from our youth. Cycling rallies like this strengthen the Fit India Movement and encourage citizens to adopt healthier habits,” he said.
